When We Are Closed
The Doctors at Denmead Health Centre are no longer providing their own out of hours cover.
If you need a doctor in an emergency and the surgery is closed, ring through on our main line (023 9223 9630) and you will be given the number for the Out of Hours Service.
The Out of Hours Service can be contacted directly when the surgery is closed on:
0300 300 2012
The service is covered by GP's from the surrounding areas.
This service is now stationed at QA Hospital and the shift's will be covered by GP's from the surrounding areas. Some of the Denmead GP's will still be covering the occassional shift for the Out of Hours Service.
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
